Your car owns you
Cars suck. I'm not saying they're worthless, but we need other options.

People NEED transportation.
It would be nice if everyone could get around by bicycle (go bikes!) or on foot. Unfortunately, things usually aren't laid out that way. How do people get around then?

Most people who can afford it end up buying a dependable car that costs A LOT of money and a large portion of their income in payments and gas.

People who can't afford that option end up buying "cheap" undependable cars that cost A LOT of money in other ways. These people end up spending a large portion of their (modest) income in repairs and gas. Some people who can't even afford an awful used car end up riding bus systems that are less than ideal. This means a lot of lost work, limited job opportunities, and a general lack of mobility.

This is a serious problem.

Luckily, we (and hopefully you) live in Texas where you can ride a scooter 10-12 months a year. That means you can get a scooter from Scooter Revolution that comes with up to a TWO year warranty, roadside assistance, towing, goes up to 80 mph, and costs almost nothing in gas. Phew! All this for a great price and no monthly payments.

I've made this unscientific chart to show what I believe to be typical expenses for a (new or undependable used) car and a (new!) scooter if you live in Austin.

Car

Scooter (some models)

Total purchase price

$2500-$30000

$2000-$4000

Average monthly payment or monthly repairs

$100-$500

Under $20

Typical MONTHLY gas expenses within 20 miles of downtown

$100-$200

$10-$30

Insurance (annual)

$600-$3000

$70-$80. Really.

Top speed (actually used)

75mph

60-75mph

Annual parking expenses/fines

Yikes!

Forget all the hype about scooters being "cool" and fun (ok, they are). Forget all the stuff about scooters being for small groups of the fashion conscious, those with money, or youth. SCOOTERS JUST MAKE SENSE.

Scooter Revolution's
mission is to bring quality motor scooters to everyone at unheard of prices. Scooters have been overpriced toys of the elite for too long.

Already own a scooter? We will always try to help you out -- regardless of brand.

We are here to help everyone have practical, affordable, and fun transportation.
