GAS PRICES - WHADEVA
Isn't it funny when people talk about high gas prices? Kinda hard to relate. It's like, "How's about those international ostrich wrestling competitions? Who is your favorite? Lithuania seems to have a strong team this year, eh?".
I tell ya, if I have to spend another $5 at the pump next week...
SPREAD THE WORD (and make money)!
We want to see more scooters around Austin and you can help! Introducing the new referral program.
Many of our customers have had strangers stop them and ask where they bought their scooter, what kind of mileage it gets, etc. Some people have even had the police pull them over to ask. Really.
Now there are two ways you can help spread the word, help people save money, AND make a little yourself. There are two ways:
#1. Stop by Scooter Revolution and ask for some postcards (6"x9" flyers). You can write your name on them and keep them in your scooter. Give them out to anyone who might be interested. Each time someone brings one of your cards into Scooter Revolution and buys a scooter, we'll give you $50. Maybe you'll never have to pay for gas again. :)
#2. Let us put a little sign on your scooter that directs people to Scooter Revolution and we'll give you $25 off EACH oil change for as long as you have the sign on your scooter.
NEW FUN STUFF
Many people (myself included) have wanted hip "pilot-style" helmets with racing stripes. Everyone knows that racing stripes make you go faster.*
Naturally, everyone wants to wear a helmet that looks like it's from Star Wars, but no one should wear a helmet that isn't DOT approved. Besides, we don't sell helmets that aren't DOT approved.
Now you can have it all. DOT approved helmets that look so cool you could wear them even when you're not riding your scooter. Think of how safe you'll be, wearing your helmet into the library, job interviews, and on dates. People will look at you and say, "My, she certainly is stylish and safe." Note: If you are male they will probably say, "HE certainly is stylish and safe."
Speaking of stylish and safe: We also have Corazzo scooter jackets that protect you without making you look like a linebacker or Hell's Angel. The jackets come with body armor and mega-super-duper reflective stripes.
NEW SHIPMENTS
Unlike some places, we make a point to keep most 150cc scooters in stock. Why? People want scooters, and we want to give them to them. We have a bunch of Vintages, Milans, and some other good stuff.
We're running low on a color or two, but our supply of 150cc scooters will be completely replenished by July 28.
NEW SCOOTER
The Phoenix 150cc is the latest scooter in our line-up. It has big 16" wheels and a very stable ride. The rear tire is the biggest tire I've ever seen on a scooter. It also has really cool gauges that are backlit in BLUE. It might not sound that exciting, but when I was riding back from having dinner at Zocalo (good food, nice owner) last night, I was blown away at how cool the gauges looked. Maybe I should find a way for people to test drive it at night so they can see the lights.... or maybe wear dark sunglasses while riding it during the day so you can see the blue backlit gauges. No, that won't work....
GIVING BACK
We are still donating $50 to Chinese earthquake victims each time someone buys a scooter from us. Thanks for helping!
We've also donated a new Vintage 150cc scooter to KOOP radio to raffle off. All proceeds go to help this community station rebuild after their fire.

Do you know people who say things like, "Chinese scooters and all things Chinese are junk." or "Brunettes are bad cooks."? If so, these people are either ignorant or are trying to sell you a scooter.... sometimes both. :)
Many companies have many parts (or all) of their product(s) made in China. These companies include Yamaha, VW, Apple Computer, and other companies that are known for making inferior junk. I joke about the junk part. These companies know something too many consumers don't: China can be a very good thing.
I just came across an article that summarizes my feelings regarding the whole cliche about "cheap Chinese junk." (yawn.). It's HERE (link).
NEW MECHANIC
We have a new mechanic. Mike is a godsend. I think he worked on Formula 1 racing or something. I haven't asked too much about it because I think I might need to pay him a lot if I do.
All I know is that he is very thorough, digs our scooters, and lovvvves talking to people about how to keep their scooters running well and how to make them go faster.
Come in for a tune-up and meet him!
TOWING PACKAGES
Did you know it can cost $100 or more to have a scooter towed? Luckily, you bought your scooter from Scooter Revolution so on the off chance your need a tow, it will cost you nothing.
Remember that when you buy a scooter from us that we include a free towing package. You can just call a 1-800 number and they'll provide roadside assistance or towing for free. You should receive this information in the mail within 3-4 weeks from the time you buy your scooter.
Recently it has come to my attention that many people don't even realize we include this service and may have misplaced their towing package information.
While it's rare that you'll need to use it, it's still a good thing to have. If you don't have your towing membership information please write to us and we'll help get it to you.
FREE MSF CLASSES
If you still haven't bought a scooter from some reason, remember that we reimburse you for your MSF class. The class is the best way to learn how to ride safely and get your license. Taking the class waives the road test portion of your license.
This class is normally $165-$190.

DON'T FORGET TO HAVE YOUR OIL CHANGED ON A REGULAR BASIS! Not changing your oil will damage your scooter. REGULAR MAINTENANCE WILL KEEP YOUR SCOOTER HAPPY!
